Social Marketing is just what it sounds like.  If you use Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, etc…  You have your Social Marketing arena at your fingertips – literally.

With Facebook, one can create pages to promote just about anything they desire.  Same with Google + pages, though I am a bit partial to Facebook over Google +.  Of course, there is always the option of talking about what you are selling on your main page (your regular Facebook page, not a fan page with just likes).

Personally, I like to segment my regular Facebook page into different friend categories.  That way I can add people w/out everyone seeing everything about me.  It is a good privacy technique and prevents people you may not actually know from contacting you or worse.

Last year, I kept up with Amazon.com’s “lightning” deals and frequently posted affiliate links of things I thought my friends and other followers might enjoy.  Though it is not always recommended to post mostly things that *you* like, I did that mostly because I did not want my friends thinking i was spamming them, because I wasn’t anyway, as I thought they were all great deals.  I landed some sales from this effort.

So, this is just an example of  one way to market your affiliate links using Social Marketing media.  I invite everyone to share their methods by commenting on this article.
